Slipcovers and Home Fashions by Jeanne, LLC

PRESENTS: www.Refindfurnishings.com by JOL

Jeanne has recently relocated to the Orlando area from New Jersey where she has run her "cottage industry" slipcoversandhomefashions.com for over 25 years. Having been taught traditional sewing techniques by her grandmother, Gertrude (born 1893), from the time Jeanne was a small child; it was only natural that her passion for sewing would lead her to a career in the field. Besides sewing, her grandmother instilled in her old world values and the importance of leaving this earth in as pristine a condition as is possible. Hence the value of recycling was a given in Jeanne’s life--from the fabrication of yoga mat bags out of recycled blue jeans to decorative painting on previously used furniture.

As for JOL--tragedy sown-inspiration grown. From inner-city teaching; to mission work in the heart of poverty stricken Zambia, Africa; to a life altering personal tragedy, JOL has been led to an epiphany. This map of JOL’s life stimulated them to a new awareness of untapped potential. With a heart full of contradictions, a new love of life, and thoughts of those back in Africa, JOL’s art emerges.

Combining artistic spirits JOL’s creativity begins to flow and another artistic phase is born. Orphaned furniture is recycled, by decorative painting, with inspiration often coming from fabric designs, love of nature, as well as life experiences in Africa. Their creations speak volumes with a multitude of events unfolding each time a work is viewed. In keeping with the theme of Home Fashions and their love of painting, JOL gives birth to an offshoot of slipcoversandhomefashions.com , "Refindfurnishings." To date JOL has participated in a number of art shows.

Since moving to Orlando JOL has shown Refindfurnishings at Celebration’s Fall and Spring Art Shows, the Lake Mary Heathrow Festival of the Arts, and Meditation Gallery. Please look for them at the upcoming art festivals in Winter Park, Mt. Dora, Kissimmee, Celebration, Lake Mary, House of Blues.
